Settings — Recurring Tasks

What This Does

The Recurring Tasks page lets you configure which tasks are automatically created for clients, and when. Once enabled, the system creates tasks for all applicable clients automatically — no manual action needed each period.

How Recurring Tasks Work

When you enable a task and set a number of days:

  • The system waits for the task's period to end
  • Then, after the configured number of days, it automatically creates that task for all applicable clients

Examples:

TaskDays SetWhen Task is Created
GSTR-1 (Monthly)33rd day after the month ends (e.g. tasks for May created on 3rd June)
Advance Tax (Quarterly)33rd day after the quarter ends
ITR - Stat Audit (Yearly)4545th day after the financial year ends

The Message column confirms the next scheduled creation — e.g. "Next tasks will be created on 03-07-2026 for Apr 26 to Jun 26."

Note: One-time tasks do not appear on this page — recurring configuration only applies to periodic tasks.

Note: If the toggle is OFF or no days are set, tasks of that type are never auto-created and must be created manually.

The Recurring Tasks List

Tasks are grouped by category (e.g. Income Tax, GST, MCA, Others). Each row represents one task type:

ColumnDescription
NameTask type name and frequency (e.g. GSTR-1 Monthly, ITR Yearly)
RecurringToggle ON to enable auto-creation, OFF to disable
DaysNumber of days after the period ends when tasks will be created
MessageShows the next scheduled creation date and period

All changes (toggle and days) are saved automatically — there is no Save button.

How the Software Knows Which Clients to Create Tasks For

Standard Tasks (GST, Income Tax etc.)

The software automatically identifies applicable clients based on their profile settings — for example, clients with GST Applicable enabled will get GST tasks.

Custom / Additional Tasks (e.g. Accounting, Bookkeeping)

For tasks that aren't standard, you need to tell the software which clients they apply to. There are two ways:

Method 1 — Tag (recommended for multiple clients):

  1. Create a Tag (e.g. "Accounting") under Settings → Tags
  2. Assign that tag to the task type under Settings → Tasks
  3. Assign the same tag to each client who needs this task
  4. The software matches clients and tasks with the same tag and creates tasks accordingly

Method 2 — Direct (per client):

  1. Go to the client's profile
  2. Open the Tasks Applicable tab
  3. Enable the task directly for that client

Both methods achieve the same result — they tell the software which clients should receive tasks of that type.
