Task Categories

What This Does

The Task Categories page lets you view and manage all task categories in the system. Categories are used to group task types (e.g. GST, Income Tax, MCA) and appear as filter pills on the Add Task page, Task List, and Dashboard. You can add new categories, create sub-categories, and manage existing ones.

Sub-Categories

Sub-categories are supported but must first be enabled under Settings → Tasks. Once enabled, a Parent Category field appears in the Add/Edit Category form, allowing you to nest a category under an existing one. Sub-categories appear alongside parent categories in filter pills (e.g. "Gst r9" under GST, "TDS" under Income Tax).

Pre-defined Categories

The following categories are built into the system and marked Pre-defined. They are locked — they cannot be edited, marked inactive, or deleted:

  • GST
  • Income Tax
  • MCA
  • Other
